6 Posts | Hello, I am new to this forum. I was wondering if anyone on here might have pictures from 1986 when Cypress Gardens hosted a monster truck water race. The trucks featured were all owned by David Spiker and consisted of Lil All American, Eagle and All American. The race was filmed and featured on the TV speical "Return of the Monster Trucks" which aired that summer. Thanks.

6 Posts | Thanks again Greg! Is the big white mansion still on the grounds there do you know? Was just kinda wondering if that area of Cypress Gardens looks much the same as it did before Legoland came in. |

1451 Posts | Yes, the Mansion is still there as are the grounds, the ski show (and theaters), the town, and the Botanical Gardens. It's pretty much the same as before. Legoland built all the rides on the other 1/2 of the park. (About the only thing that's not still there are the animal exhibits.)

234 Posts | That looked like it would have been an awesome race. Its a Pity Monster Truck races aren't what they used to be. Now its mostly one set of cars in a stadium. The outside races where they would change things up a bit ( Races courses that included part of a superspeedway, Water Races, Mud pits, etc) seemed to have vanished. | | |
